Fencing VR creates an immersive training experience for the young fencers to get new positive emotions during the process. This helps increase motivation to train repeatedly. The fencers can practice with Fencer VR individually at home, in addition to their regular training sessions — and this way make faster progress in learning the basic fencing skills.

During the fencing lessons, the students can practice with Fencing VR under the coach’s lead, which enhances the efficiency of the process. The coaches can use their own accounts to review and analyse the students’ performance after each lesson, track changes to the better or worse, and adapt the individual training plans.
This way, Fencer VR makes a great assistant to the coach — and helps create a more positive, enjoyable learning atmosphere for the whole class.

Easily joining my list of ‘things I didn’t foresee VR being used for’, Fencer is a virtual reality fencing trainer which uses a real fencing sword attached to an Oculus Quest controller to help would-be fencers learn the underlying strategies and movements.
Wouldn’t it be cool to fence with a real sword in VR? AR/VR studio Boxglass has released Fencer, a VR fencing trainer designed to help new players learn the sport of fencing while using a real fencing weapon.
